Individual Learning

Music Theory for Tap Dancers
Andrew Nemr’s Play//Time approach to teaching music theory for tap dancers includes all the basics you need, plus more advanced concepts of music playing.
Flexibility and Strength
You’ll learn the Wharton Health system of dynamic flexibility and strength exercises as a way of caring for your entire body.
Technique
Technique is the foundation of any dancer. Here you’ll learn a variety of techniques for tap dance vocabulary that increase speed, control, and dexterity.
Choreography
Andrew’s choreography has been recognized internationally. During the intensive you’ll learn an original piece of Andrew’s choreography to take home with you.
Improvisation
Gain simple exercises that will expand your ability create interesting content both on the fly (improvising) or more slowly (choreographing).
History
Learn about key contributors of tap dance, their specific contribution, traditional steps, and the historical context of their contribution.

Every year amazing guest faculty join Andrew for the summer intensive. Past faculty have included tap dance historians, award winning musicians, and storytellers.
